Nope, he’s not the First to Get the iPad

On my previous post, I have written about Greg Packer’s attempt to be the first person to get his hands on the latest iPad in New York City (click here to read). So did he managed to be the first one to own this latest Apple product?

The answer is NO. Despite of being the first in the queue and waited for 3 days and nights, Greg Packer does not manage to be the first dude to buy the iPad.

Greg Packer loses his position to a German blogger, Richard Gutjahr who was the second person in the queue. Richard has been one step ahead of Greg by reserving the iPad and Apple only hand out iPads to those who have reserved them in the first place first. The device will also be couriered or delivered at stores to those who have pre-ordered it before it becomes available to the general public.

Exited about becoming the first person to get the iPad, Gutjahr said,

“Apparently nobody before me in the original line had a reservation… crazy.”

Gutjahr also told a blog that Packer is angry about being forced to drop back.

“He seems to be really mad, Funny thing: the media still thinks he’d be the number one who gets the iPad. But he needs to wait until the reserved line is done. And that one is lead by me. Who would have thought this?”

Better luck next time Greg, and make sure you have pre-ordered first before going for a queue.
