Although there are many people dislike the name “iPad” on Apple’s latest product for various reasons that I need not mention. It doesn’t stop Apple from continuing with the name “iPad”.
Apparently, Fujitsu, a Japanese multinational computer hardware and IT services company, is the rightful owner of the “iPad” Trademark and recently, Apple and Fujitsu has came into a deal in which now Apple has become the new owner of the name “iPad”. This has been confirmed by the Patent Authority.
So if you wonder what a Fujitsu iPad is, Fujitsu iPad is the name of Fujitsu’s wireless handheld computing device used by retailers. The trademark was registered on March 2003. To get a picture of Fujitsu iPad, here is an image of it:
No idea on the price that Apple has paid to Fujitsu, but judging from the high reputation of Apple and the quite successful reception of the pre-order sale of iPad (Estimated 120,000 iPad has been sold on the first day of launch), I would say that it would involve a huge sum of money.
Lucky Fujitsu.
