Defense of the Ancients (DotA) was a past success which will end his reign with v6.72f map. Dota 2 will going to public for the first time in this very championship – The International Dota 2 Championships. The world’s 16 most notable teams are invited to the championship, which including Malaysian’s MUFC. They will be competing for $1 Million USD in prize money!!!
This very first Dota 2 championship will be held in Cologne, Germany, from 17 till 21 August 2011. It will be a group stage double-elimination playoff format. All tournament hardware are provided by Nvidia. Live worldwide video broadcast in 4 languages : English, Chinese, German & Russian.
“The International is the first public Dota 2 event and will give the tens of millions of gamers playing Dota around the world their first look at the new game,” said Gabe Newell, president and founder of Valve.
