Read QR Codes Straight from your Browser (Google Chrome Extension)

QR Codes can be found in many places especially on the advertisement panels. It is the new way of sharing links and other data. Most of the mobile phones today have the apps that are capable of decoding the QR code to extract the underlying information.

When you are browsing the web, there might be instances where you come across QR codes and would like to read the code directly from your website without using mobile phone. You can do so by using the QRreader which is a google chrome extension.

All you need to do is just to right click on any QR code and then select the ‘Read QR Code from image’ option. If the QR is a link, it will be opened in the new link and if the QR code has underlying text, phone number, or any other data, it will be displayed in the pop up page.

The QR code is still in its beta stage, new features like creating QR code from a link, select text & share the code and scanning the code using the webcam may be added into the apps in the future.
