iPad may not be the device that is well received by the public as expected after being launched. I myself feels that there are some major flaws that the device has. In fact, I have even written a post about Why iPad Sucks! (click here to read). But, as the title suggested, iPad is not due for doom.
Here’s why. According to ChangeWave, a survey was conducted with a sample size of 3171 people on Amazon.com to see which eBook reader the users preferred. Amazingly, it is the iPad that has the highest vote (40% of total). 28% of users choose Amazon Kindle, 6% B&N Nook and the due for doom, Sony Reader, only received 1% of the votes.
In comparison with iPad, the Kindle has longer battery life, more book titles in store, allegedly offering a better book reading experience than iPad thanks to its electronic ink technology. But yet, iPad received more favor of the people due to its better color scheme, unique Apple’s design, multi-touch feature and its multi-functionality.
This will get even more interesting as Amazon is currently working on a full color and multi-touch version. Looks like competition is stiff.
