Tech Myth No 1: Having battery in your laptop while connecting to AC adapter  will shorten the battery life

It is common for us to hear from our friends that we need to pull out our batteries when the laptop is connected to the AC adapter to avoid damaging the batteries. Well contrary to popular beliefs, the above situation only applies to old generation of nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. All the batteries in today’s laptops use lithium ion compound and thus need not be taken out although the battery has been fully charged.

Tech Myth No. 2: AMD-based laptops generate much more heat than Intel-based laptops

The above link shows you a youtube video of the heat test comparison between intel chips and AMD chips. Clearly, AMD chips generate much more heat than their intel equivalents as they are up in smokes when the cooling fans are removed. However, this comparison is made between old generation chips that is not in production anymore. The AMD chips now are as efficient as intel chips if not better.

Tech Myth No. 3: Jailbreaking the iPhone 3GS has no adverse effect on the function of the phone.

That is false. Apple has been improving their iPhones  so that it is not t easily hacked my hackers. If the phone is jailbroken, the phone will simply hang after a hard reset. In that case, you will need to connect it to a PC and re-activate the phone in order for it to work again.

It is not worth jailbreaking your iPhone not only as it harms the phone’s normal operation but also voids the warranty.
